This trip is strictly PESA members only – families etc. are welcome to join us for the lunch stop in Swan Valley

Swan Valley Field Trip – 20th May 08:15 – 16:30

Agenda:

Start at Kings Park look out (1 hr):

  • 8.15 am
  • Safety over view
  • overview of the Swan Valley and associates environments

Travel down to Cottesloe Beach front (adjacent to groyne) (1hr)

  • Have morning tea
  • Short walk along the coastal outcrops

Travel around Peppermint Grove lookout

  • This will be a short stop to over view the deepest part of the Swan River

Depart for the upper Swam Valley

  • Walyunga National Park
  • Over view some ancient beach ridges and the architecture of the upper Swan river and associated delta plain

Lunch at a vineyard in the upper Swan Valley

  • We are aiming to be arriving at a designate winery between 1.30 -2.00 pm.
  • Exact venue TBC

Depart 3.00 pm for arrival at Kings Park by 4.00 pm.

Please bring any of these a clipboard, stationary, compass clinometer, hand lens, tape measure, obligatory item for scale, hard hat (for real geologists) water/food as required and money for lunch and wine.

Simon and Neil will provide a field guide and their expert advice.
