He is also the Domain Expert on shale gas for ONGC (India National Oil Company) and consults regularly on international shale gas projects.

PESA QLD would like to extend a big thank you to Dr Faraj for his fantastic presentation.  The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and the members surely did appreciate receiving a global perspective on how US Shale Gas is truly revolutionising the global energy landscape on an unprecedented scale.

Dr Faraj has generously made his presentation available to everyone who attended the PESA Lunch.  Those interested to have a copy of the slideshow can download it here:

Presentation Abstract:

The growth of the North American unconventional oil and gas resources has unleashed economic and political repercussions that are still being felt throughout the world. Fossil fuels will continue to be the major source of energy in the coming decades, notwithstanding the rapid growth in renewables and other sources. Thus, the responsible development of unconventional resources will play a key role in meeting future energy demand. This talk will cover the systematics of shale gas/oil and discuss unconventional resources potential and challenges in Australia and the region.
