Presentation Abstract:
Risk attitudes (which are real attitudes towards uncertainty) describe how we balance out our desire to avoid bad outcomes (and their chance of occurring) versus how much we want good outcomes (and their chance of occurring).   They are often mis-understood.  Did you know that you, or your company, can be risk averse even when there is no chance of losing money?   This talk will clarify what it means to be risk averse, risk-neutral and risk-seeking – and discuss the implications of these attitudes for the outcomes of decisions, both personal and business.

Important Note:
Attendees registered for Professor Begg’s Short Course are automatically enrolled in this Technical Luncheon.  For further details about Professor Begg’s 3-day Short Course entitled “Making Good Decisions under Uncertainty”, please see the event and booking web page here.
