PESA’s Meritorious Service Award 2004 – Peter Baillie

PESA’s Board and Members at the Annual General Meeting in Canberra in March 2004 unanimously agreed to award Peter Baillie with PESA’s Meritorious Service Award in 2004. PESA’s WA Branch nominated Peter.

Peter’s efforts as a PESA volunteer and professional are exemplary, expansive and are tough to keep to a single page!

  • Influential as an ANZMEC sub-committee member in the refinement of the PSLA regime

Peter has served for many years and continues to be an exuberant, valuable and respected volunteer for the Geological Society of Australia, the Formation Society of Western Australia and PESA. Since 1999, Peter has been an integral member of the PESA Publications Sub-committee, initially through his role as Managing Editor of the PESA Journal from 1999 to 2002, and now as Technical Editor for the Proceedings of PESA Basins Symposiums. Peter’s vision is to obtain for Australian geoscientists the international exposure that they deserve.
