Sand
Control And Management Forum Oil & Gas IQ's 6th international Sand forum will be held on August 20th -21st in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will examine all the issues in both downhole sand control and topsides sand management. Field
studies from across South East Asia, Australia and further a field will
be presented including; Plus hear the latest technological advances from these leading experts: Weatherford, Reslink, Corrocean, Corex, Helix RDS Ltd and Owen. For many years the answer to sand has been to control it at all costs, even at the expense of production rates. PESA QLD Sydney Basin Field Trip In late June, The PESA Queensland and Northern Territory Branch is running a five day field workshop on the Early Permian successions in the southern Sydney Basin. The workshop is entitled 'New methods & developments in high-resolution sequence stratigraphy & reservoir characterisation of estuarine, shallow marine and deltaic deposits'. The course will focus on new methods in sequence stratigraphic analysis such as the integration of ichnology and ichnofacies analysis with sedimentology and standard facies analysis. The southern Sydney Basin provides superb 3D exposures of a variety of estuarine, shallow marine & deltaic facies, comparable in quality to the widely known geological localities in Utah and Colorado. The course will encompass tutorial sessions integrated with practical experience in both modern environments and on a number of the spectacular 3D coastal exposures between Batemans Bay and Ulladulla on the picturesque south coast of New South Wales. Course conveners are Drs Kerrie Bann (Ichnofacies Pty Ltd), Christopher Fielding (University of Nebraska, USA) and Stuart Tye (Origin Energy) who between them have extensive research experience with these exposures and with coastal and marine successions worldwide. The course will depart from Sydney airport on June 22nd and return on
June 28th. Although the closing date for registration was May, late registration
may still be possible. Contact Stuart Tye at stuart.tye@upstream.origin |
