PESA ACT Annual Lawn Bowls

PESA ACT Branch has had an active start to spring this year with the annual lawn bowls afternoon on 22 September followed by Craig Shipp’s excellent AAPG distinguished lecture on Mass Transport Deposits in deep water environments on 26 September. The lecture commenced with a relaxed luncheon followed by Craig’s talk and was enjoyed by up to 40 people.

Around 20 people took part in the annual lawn bowls event which was held on stunning Canberra spring afternoon. The event commenced with a relaxed BBQ followed by a brief recap on the specifics of the game. This was followed by an intense but friendly competition of lawn bowls.

Student Travel Subsidies

PESA NSW has continued to show its support for students entering the petroleum industry by offering two travel subsidies to NSW tertiary students attending the recent AAPG International Conference in Perth, WA.

From the applications received, Justin Ugbo and Mohammad Ali Aghighi were selected to receive the travel subsidies and were presented their cheques at the AAPG Conference by Roxey Sutherland, NSW Treasurer.
